Academic Support Services

The divisions of Academic Support Services work directly with Pre-K through 12 students. Head Start provides early childhood education to income-eligible students and students with special needs at 15 centers in east and northeast Harris County. The Schools division maintains four campuses offering programs that feature highly individualized learning and small group instruction in highly structured classroom environments to students with profound special needs, adjudicated or expelled students, and students recovering from substance addiction. School-based Therapy Services supports children with disabilities and their families in the areas of occupational therapy, physical therapy and music therapy through assessment, intervention, consultation, training and direct service in the classroom in a student's neighborhood school and district.
