Fall Children’s Book Week: November 7-13
Children’s Book Week, established in 1919, is not only a celebration of books, but of connection. It is a vehicle to unite kids and adults with books, authors, and illustrators in order to foster a love of reading. It is a twice-annual celebration of children’s books and reading, so you can also prepare for May 2023.
This year’s Book Week slogan is How Do You Book? The activities in this kit are divided into three sections which invite kids to discover What, Where, and How they book, and share it with their communities. Download the 2022 educator toolkit. \ Resources and ideas from past celebrations are also available. Have your students take the How Do you Book Challenge, print out certificates and share their success with CASE for Kids.
External Challenge to support Book Week:
90-Second Newbery Film Festival!
The 90-Second Newbery Film Festival is an annual video contest in which young filmmakers create movies that tell the entire stories of Newbery-winning books in about 90 seconds. Deadline is March 3, 2023.
