Lights On Afterschool: October 20, 2022

Celebrate the 23nd annual Lights On Afterschool Oct. 20, 2022! Launched in October 2000, Lights On Afterschool is the only nationwide event celebrating afterschool programs and their important role in the lives of children, families and communities. The Afterschool Alliance organizes Lights On Afterschool to draw attention to the many ways afterschool programs support students by offering them opportunities to learn new things—such as science, community service, robotics, Tae Kwon Do and poetry—and discover new skills. The events send a powerful message that millions more kids need quality afterschool programs.

Register your event with Afterschool Alliance to receive an event starter kit which includes 10 free posters and makes you eligible for cool prizes each week.  http://loa.afterschoolalliance.org/accounts/signup/

  • Each spring, the Afterschool Alliance hosts a poster contest for the upcoming Lights On Event in the fall.   The Lights On Afterschool poster contest is a great opportunity for an afterschool program to gain national recognition for the opportunities it offers. The winning artist will be featured on their website, blog, and a national press release, and their afterschool program will be credited on the poster in addition to receiving the grand prize of $500!  Check out past winners, watch for an announcement from CASE or visit the Afterschool Alliance webpage for contest details.
