January is National Mentoring Month

National Mentoring Month is a month to recognize and pay respect to mentors who help students and mentees of all kinds across a multitude of disciplines. View the Mentoring.org site to use their digital toolkit..

Activities:

  1. Lead students in a discussion about who has served as a mentor in their lives. Create cards or use a template to send out to their mentors. Work with them to share their story with Mentoring.org at https://bit.ly/3m75Duq
  2. If your program has mentors, have students help you plan an event in January to honor the mentors.
  3. Share this video about mentors with students and have them develop a list of what they think makes a good mentor. What would their video look like?
  4. Review toolkits at Mentor.org to help students mentor others and to help your mentors develop growth mindset practices when working with students.
