January is National Mentoring Month
National Mentoring Month is a month to recognize and pay respect to mentors who help students and mentees of all kinds across a multitude of disciplines. View the Mentoring.org site to use their digital toolkit..
Activities:
- Lead students in a discussion about who has served as a mentor in their lives. Create cards or use a template to send out to their mentors. Work with them to share their story with Mentoring.org at https://bit.ly/3m75Duq
- If your program has mentors, have students help you plan an event in January to honor the mentors.
- Share this video about mentors with students and have them develop a list of what they think makes a good mentor. What would their video look like?
- Review toolkits at Mentor.org to help students mentor others and to help your mentors develop growth mindset practices when working with students.
