International Children's Book Day is on April 2nd. This day was established in 1967 by the International Board on Books for Young People (IBBY) to inspire a love of reading and to highlight the importance of children's books. The date was chosen to honor the birthday of Hans Christian Andersen, the famous Danish author known for his fairy tales

Pets have a magical way of making every day a special celebration, so it’s only fair they get at least one day when we show appreciation for them. National Pet Day is celebrated on April 11. This day was founded in 2006 by animal welfare advocate Colleen Paige to celebrate the joy pets bring to our lives and to raise awareness about the needs of pets waiting in shelters.
