Harris County Department of Education'sHead Start and Early Head Start programs serve more than 1,500 students each day. Far too many students enter school unprepared and ultimately fall behind. HCDE Head Start is an educational program providing students and their families the skills they need to be ready for the demands of school. HCDE Head Start works with income-eligible students and students with special needs residing in east and northeast Harris County.
Our locations include Compton, Coolwood, Dogan, Fonwood, Sheffield (Galena Park), Barrett Station (Crosby), Baytown, JD Walker (Goose Creek), Channelview, Humble, La Porte, Tidwell (Sheldon), John G. Jones (Crosby), Pasadena, and Houston.
