Board of Trustees
Seven board members act to establish policies governing the operation of
HCDE. The board is elected by the citizens of Harris County. Board

Choice Partners Cooperative
Choice Partners national cooperative offers quality, legal procurement and contract solutions to meet the purchasing needs of school districts and other governmental entities with legal, competitively bid contracts.
Communication serves as both the internal and external communications center for HCDE.
Alternative Certification for teachers or principals prepares aspiring degreed professionals to become either teachers or principals.
The Institute at HCDE provides quality, scientific-based evaluation services—including Internal Review Boards—which meet the needs of school districts and other community groups.
Foundations and Alliances
HCDE is an advocate for organizations which include the Education Foundation of Harris County, the Texas Virtual School Network (TxVSN) through the Texas Education Agency, the Academic Decathlon and the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards.
