About the Speakers
Michelle Hardy, MT-BC
Michelle Hardy is a board-certified music therapist (MT-BC) and a Spelling to Communicate (S2C) practitioner. She has over 25 years of experience in the field of autism, dedicating much of her career to providing quality music therapy services for individuals with autism to build nonmusical, functional skills in the domains of sensorimotor, communication, and cognition. A big aspect of Michelle’s work has been supporting non-speaking individuals to find their voice, and many of her passions were brought together when introduced to Spelling to Communicate (S2C).
Dr. Blythe LaGasse, BM, MM, PhD
Dr. Blythe LaGasse holds a Ph.D. in Music Education/Therapy with a minor in Communication Neuroscience from the University of Kansas. Blythe has been practicing music therapy since 2001, with experience working with children and adolescents who have disabilities, including autism, emotional/behavioral disorder, learning disabilities, and developmental disabilities. Blythe has advanced training working with people who have autism and motor/speech disabilities, including DIRFloortime training.
