Dec. 18 is Wreaths Across America Day
Wreaths Across America (WAA) was started in 2006 to expand students and community education by putting veterans together with children through the mission statement “Remember, Honor, Teach”. Expanded, this mission statement is to Remember the fallen; Honor those who served; and Teach our children the value of freedom. Each year across hundreds of cemeteries, wreaths are placed on veteran’s graves. Locally, you can sponsor a wreath at Houston National Cemetery for $15.
