2024 Heart of Education Host Committee

Dear Friends and Fellow Education Advocates,

We are excited to announce this year’s Heart of Education Luncheon, the signature event of the Education Foundation of Harris County (EFHC), co-chaired by Leisa Holland-Nelson and Shavonnah R. Schreiber, co-hosts of Culture Club HTX, a popular podcast and ESPN Houston radio show. The luncheon will be held on Thursday, October 3, 2024, at The Junior League of Houston, where we will celebrate the Pages of Progress in Early Childhood Education.

We warmly invite you to join the Host Committee and support this vital cause. Your participation will help us continue to fund programs that enhance the cognitive, social, and emotional development of children in Harris County, ensuring they reach their full potential. Each day, Harris County Department of Education's Head Start and Early Head Start programs serve over 1,200 students and their families, all of whom face significant financial challenges.

These programs provide essential skills for income-eligible students and those with special needs in various locations across the county, including Fifth Ward, Galena Park, Crosby, Baytown, Goose Creek, Channelview, Humble, La Porte, Sheldon, Pasadena, Houston and more.

The proceeds from the luncheon have supported early childhood literacy initiatives, robotics and art programming, student scholarships, grants for innovative school projects, and essential supplies for teachers — efforts that are only possible with your involvement and the generosity of our sponsors.

To kick off our efforts, we will be hosting a Host Committee Party on June 12th at Segovia Studios (3420 Rusk St, Houston, TX 77003). Please confirm your participation and RSVP for the kick-off event with Trina Silva at trina.silva@hcde-texas.org or 713-696-1325 by Friday, June 7th.

We deeply appreciate your commitment to advancing early childhood education. Whether you sponsor a table, assemble a table group, purchase an individual ticket, or donate, your support is invaluable.
Information on event sponsorships will be available soon in the presale letter.

Thank you for your dedication to this important cause. With your support, we are confident this will be another exceptional luncheon!

With sincere appreciation,
