The 21st CCLC Program is a key component of President Bush's No Child Left Behind Act. It is an opportunity for students and their families to continue to learn new skills and discover new abilities after the school day has ended. The focus of this program, re-authorized under Title IV, Part B, of the No Child Left Behind Act, is to provide expanded academic enrichment opportunities for children attending low performing schools. Tutorial services and academic enrichment activities are designed to help students meet local and state academic standards in subjects such as reading and math. In addition, 21st CCLC programs provide youth development activities, drug and violence prevention programs, technology education programs, art, music and recreation programs, counseling and character education to enhance the academic component of the program.

CASE Partnership Project
5 Participating School Districts
36 Campuses

The goal of the CASE Partnership Project is to increase the number of children ages 4-12 served in high-quality school-based after-school programs. The Partnership Project accesses traditionally unused federal funds to create a new opportunity for supporting after-school programs in Harris County public schools. Funding for this project was developed through the collaborative efforts of HCDE, County Judge Ed Emmett, the Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC), and the Texas Workforce Commission.

CASE Membership Schools

CASE membership creates an opportunity for after-school service providers that are not funded through CASE to benefit from CASE services and the CASE network. CASE provides trainings, monthly collective meetings, web-based reporting, site visits, and consultations.
