The National School Public Relations Association awarded Harris County Department of Education the “award of merit” for Imprint Magazine, a publication featuring the Scholastic Art & Writing entries from students in Harris County.
The contest features entries from school districts throughout the nation. There were 801 entries for publications and electronic media in this year’s contest. Categories included “Awards of Excellence,” “Awards of Merit,” and “Awards of Honorable Mention.”
The magazine is produced by HCDE’s Communications and Public Information division in conjunction with HCDE’s regional sponsorship of the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. The magazines are complimentary to winners of the Scholastic Art & Writing Regional Competition within Harris County, including middle and high school students in public and private schools.
Specifically, the magazine was designed by HCDE’s graphic artist Angela Hider and coordinated by HCDE’s Scholastic Art & Writing consultant Kris Reid.
The magazine will be displayed among other winning entries at the National School Public Relations Association Conference in Charlotte, North Carolina in July.
